the most important work ever done
my this lacks substance
Making lunch twice over. the first time I mismanaged the process. Thought process. But really it didn't matter. Only the waste, the waste of food, thrown to the trash seemed problematic.
The Digital in our Every Day Lives
The first thing that comes to mind is not exactly digital but electric - so I donŐt know if it really qualifies, except that it could fall under the technology category. I am buying a car and selling a car as of right now, and all of those ŇfeaturesÓ that a car comes with has been on my mind. All of these electric/computerized gizmos in cars that technology has brought us really arenŐt doing everything or being everything we would have hoped, or been led to hope. (And this I think can apply to a lot of different kinds of technologies). For cars, especially in my current situation, the main problem is that these ŇfeaturesÓ donŐt last long; they are one of the first things to go and one of the most expensive things to fix. At this point it seems smarter to buy a car that is simple, completely void of all these extra little buttons that rely so heavily upon technology. Because once something goes wrong thatŐs it, a window wonŐt open, a door wonŐt unlock, and so on. Looking at this through a wider lens, I think we have become already too dependent upon these Ňfeatures.Ó It has gotten to the point that many people do not know how to do things for themselves, and once something breaks down they are at a complete loss. This is definitely the means for a social upheaval/breakdown, no?

I googled for electronic artists and funny enough this website was on the forefront of the list. Basically it is a site advertising a DJ based out of Burbank, CA. The first screen is planned out well with an image on the left and information on the right. What I like about this set-up is that it is made for the size of the computer screen and does not require scrolling down which in a lot of ways messes up the aesthetics of a page and does not seem as inviting. As a whole the site is not that complicated and keeps it simple with only a few pages to connect to.

This was another site that popped up on the google search for electronic artists. I really liked the look of this site with the paper background and so forth. However it wasn't easily navigable and didn't seem to have a lot of substance. I was expecting more of her work to be accessible and it wasn't. More fluff than anything else with this site, I guess.

It's always interesting to me that someone who is doing such amazing an innovative electronic installation art work would not have a more innovative and surprising website. I was also having problems accessing everything because the left side of the screen was separate from the right and wouldn't scroll on its own. Also a lot of the links were unexplained and I would be looking at something that would pretty much have little or no relevance.
